Golf Courses Designed by Donald Ross

Scotsman Donald Ross built over 400 courses in the first half of the twentieth century including the iconic Pinehurst #2 with its domed greens.  He lived at Pinehurst behind the third green. He was adept at course layout with short distances between tees and greens enabling walking.  He invited run-up shots to greens with sharp slopes over the green that run away and cross bunkers to punish low shots are common.
