Disney Magnolia Course is the highest-rated course of the four distinct courses near Disney World – Lake Buena Vista, Magnolia, Oak Trail and Palm.  Disney incorporates golf into their blend of entertainment offerings to appeal to a broader audience beyond their Orlando theme parks. These popular courses receive a tremendous play volume during the peak winter months.  Imagine a splendid alternative to a day at the theme park for the ardent golfer.

Magnolia and Palm are the original courses that opened in 1970.  Lake Buena Vista began two years later. A Par3 course, Oak Trail, opened in the late 1980s.  Magnolia and Palm hosted a PGA Tour event, the Disney Classic, for forty-two years ending in 2013.  Notable professional golfers have teed it up a Disney.  We played the Magnolia course as the more challenging track and hosted the final round of the tournament. Named after its magnificent trees, the features include elevated, large greens, and good-sized fairways.  Colorful flora including oleander, crape myrtle are abundant.  Disney Magnolia is longer than Disney Palm course ten yards per hole.  A set of tournament tees at 7516 for championships are available.   Look for the turtles, osprey, and turkeys and keep your distance from snakes and alligators.

Greens were slow and exhibited signs of wear due to the volume of play.  But it’s an excellent track and a must-play for golfers on a Disney vacation. A bunker in the shape of Mickey Mouse fronts the green on the Par3 Hole #6. Twelve holes integrate water into the course. The Par4 seventeenth tempts you to launch over the water and trees to shorten the hole. Success means a wedge into the green.

A long but fair golf course with no forced carries other than a Par3, Disney Magnolia is only five minutes from the resorts.  Disney guests get free taxi vouchers.  If you have time for one course, play Disney Magnolia.
